President’s Message for MayAnchors Away!!!
We had our first kick-off event for the July cruise at Hobo’s CafĂ© in Salisbury last night and it was really great to see about twenty members there supporting the event.
Howie and his crew at Hobo’s did a fine job with a really good buffet (FREE) and then a fun drag show.
Tom and his cruise committee are hard at work planning events and getting raffle prizes for the cruise. I talked with Gary and Maurice last night and, as they have done in the past, they have some exciting raffle items lined up.
Cruise tickets have been on sale since last week so get yours and talk to your friends. Let’s make this the biggest cruise ever! 300 men in a confined space? This could be really FUN.
On another note...wasn’t it nice to see so many new men join us at our May 12th meeting? I thought it was great and look forward to seeing them on a regular basis! Please, take a moment and get to know the new men at our meetings. Let's show them we are really glad to have them.
The weather (today anyway) is getting warmer and it is nice getting out in the yard and checking out all the spring things popping up!! No, not those, I mean the flowers and shrubs.
Well, I have to get out in the yard and do some spring cleaning. I really need a “yard boy.” Oh, he doesn’t have to be a whole yard but something I could wrap both hands around would be nice.
Ciao for now, see you soon.
Joe
